SEE IT: Kansas City Chiefs security guard makes a diving tackle on Broncos fan running onto field

The best tackle in the Chiefs-Broncos game wasn’t made by either team.

When a fan ran onto the field during Sunday night’s game, a security guard showed more intensity than the Broncos defense when he made a diving tackle to stop the fan in their tracks.

The man running onto the field was a Broncos fan, so the crowd erupted when security made the tackle.

Kevin Harlan, who was calling play-by-play for Sunday Night's game on Westwood One, called the tackle of the fan live on air. In the final seconds of the third quarter, Harlan admired the tackle of the man and noted that the fan looked like Batman and he may have "needed Robin," to prevent getting caught.

Earlier this season, Harlan has had memorable calls of fans running onto the field only to be leveled by security. A few weeks ago he called every part of a shirtless Jets fan getting tackled during a Monday Night game against the Colts. He also had a blast when a fan trotted around the field during a Rams-49ers game.

While fans applauded the effort of the guard, they also had plenty to cheer about during Sunday’s game.

The Chiefs kept their division hopes alive with a huge 33-10 win over Denver. Kansas City currently has the No. 5 seed in the playoffs, but could move up and take the division with a win and a Raiders loss in Week 17.

Security guard’s flying tackle of fan at Chiefs game was a thing of beauty

It was a Christmas to remember.

There was the Tyreek Hill run. The Travis Kelce catch and dash to the end zone. And, of course, Dontari Poe’s TD pass that was a nod to Tim Tebow. Oh, and the final score: Chiefs 33, Broncos 10.

But don’t forget the tackle by the security guard during the third quarter of Sunday night’s game.

There were many great aspects to this. First, the fan seemed to think the Arrowhead Stadium crowd was cheering for him when in fact they were anticipating him being tackled by the security guard. Then there was the flying tackle by the security guard. And Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters just loved it, too.
