Michael Moore rips up Washington Post
Filmmaker Michael Moore held up a copy of today’s Washington Post, with the headline “Trump Takes Power.”
” I don’t think so!” he said. “We are here to vow to end the Trump carnage!” Then he ripped up the newspaper.
Moore encouraged attendees at the Women’s March to call lawmakers Monday and ask them to vote against President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education.
“We do not accept Betsy DeVos as our secretary of education!” he shouted to loud cheers.
DeVos, an advocate for private school vouchers, has been heavily involved in school reform in Moore’s home state of Michigan.
Moore also said that while he’s done fundraisers for Planned Parenthood in the past, he realized today that he wasn’t actually a member. “So this morning, I joined Planned Parenthood,” he said.
Moore also said the Democratic party needs new and younger leadership after twice winning the popular vote but losing the Electoral College.
“Twice now, we won the White House, yet they walked through the door!”

“So I woke up this morning, picked up The Washington Post and the headline read ‘Trump takes power,’” Moore said during remarks at the Women’s March on Washington. “I don’t think so! Here’s the power. Here’s the majority of America right here. We are the majority.
He then continued to read from the Post: “New president vows to end American carnage.”
“Mr. Trump, we are here to end the Trump carnage,” he said.
Then, he ripped the paper in half.

”I don’t think so! We are here to vow to end the Trump carnage!” Moore said before ripping the newspaper.
During his speech, Moore asked attendees to contact lawmakers Monday and ask them to vote against President Trump's Education Secretary nominee Betsy Devos.
“We do not accept Betsy DeVos as our secretary of education!” he shouted.
Moore and other Democrats have been critical of DeVos for her views on school choice and for saying during a Senate hearing that guns should be allowed in schools in order to protect from grizzly bear attacks.
Moore also said that while he’s been an activist for Planned Parenthood, he had never formally joined the group.
“So this morning, I joined Planned Parenthood,” he said.
