Metallica Announce 2017 North American Tour With Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat + Gojira
Metallica have just announced a massive North American tour with support from Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira! The string of dates will run from May to August with support slots shifting throughout.
Metallica revealed these dates earlier today (Feb. 13) as a part of their WorldWired 2017 tour plans. Pre-sale tickets will be available to Legacy Fan Club members on Feb. 14 at 9AM local time. Tickets for Metallica fan club members will go on sale Feb. 14 at 11AM local time. Tickets will become available for the general public beginning Feb. 17 at 10AM local time. Each ticket purchased with come with a free copy of Metallica’s newest album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, either as a physical CD or digital download. The album must be claimed within 14 business days of ticket purchase.
Metallica has partnered with CID Entertainment to offer four options of special enhanced experiences on this tour, including early access to the venue, a visit to the ‘Memory Remains’ exhibit of memorabilia and meet and greets. For full package details, click here.
Metallica performed “Moth Into Flame” with Lady Gaga at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards last night (Feb. 12). The song was marred with technical difficulties as James Hetfield’s mic wasn’t turned on until the song’s second verse. Hetfield seemed visibly upset, kicking over his mic stand and throwing his guitar away in disgust after the song ended.

Metallica have mapped out the North American dates of their 2017 WorldWired Tour. The heavy metal legends will storm stadiums, arenas and festival stages this summer on their first full-scale trek here since 2009.
The 25-date North American leg kicks off May 10th at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium and winds around the U.S. and Canada before concluding August 16th in Edmonton. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will open for the majority of the dates, with Gojira joining the bill for the August dates.
Tickets for the U.S. stretch of the WorldWired Tour go on sale February 17th. Legacy Fan Club members having an opportunity to buy tickets starting February 14th. Each ticket purchased for the WorldWired tour will come with either a digital or physical copy of Hardwired… to Self-Destruct.
Metallica previously supported their new LP with a handful of U.S. small venue gigs (like New York's Webster Hall) in 2016, as well as the first ever concert at Minneapolis' U.S. Bank Stadium.
