Papa John’s delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Winston-Salem: ‘Don’t say a word’
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Papa John’s delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Winston-Salem Sunday night, according to a press release.
Police responded to 101 Echo Glen Drive around 9:34 p.m. in reference to a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that 47-year-old Frederick Mann was delivering pizza for Papa John’s when three men walked up to him.
One of the suspects, who had a handgun, said “don’t say a word” before the trio emptied his pockets and took his wallet, phone and two pizzas, the release states. They then fled on foot.
The investigation is ongoing.
A man with a gun robbed a Papa John’s Pizza restaurant Monday night in north suburban Waukegan.
An employee called for help about 10:30 p.m. after the man entered the pizza place in the 1300 block of North Green Bay Road, showed a silver handgun and made off with an unspecified amount of cash, according to Waukegan police.
The robber was described as a thin black man standing about 5-foot-11, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a zipper, a black winter mask covering the lower portion of his face, dark blue jeans, white tennis shoes and white gloves.
Police: Man damaged U of L police car, Papa John's Stadium
A Louisville man was arrested after authorities said he damaged University of Louisville property, including at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Kameron Davenport, 20, is accused by U of L Police of trespassing at and damaging the stadium on Monday, according to an arrest citation. He also allegedly injured an officer and kicked out the window of a police vehicle.
According to the citation, officers found Davenport on the field of Papa John's Stadium, which is fenced in and locked, at about 11:30 a.m. He was placed into custody and began resisting an officer while being placed in the back of a police car.
Davenport fought with the officer and caused an unspecified injury to the officer's arm. While he was in the back seat of the car, he became violent and kicked out the rear window of the police car, the citation said.
He "created a disturbance causing workers in the area to flee and become fearful," the citation alleges. The estimated damage to U of L property was $1,200, police said.
U of L athletics spokesman Rocco Gasparro said that the initial estimate for damages is $21,000 and could be higher as they continue to assess the stadium.
He said that a wrap that surrounds the field at the lower level was torn for about 70 yards. One of the rotating signs that shows sponsored material was also damaged. There is no timeframe on when they might be fixed.
Davenport was charged with one count each first-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, first-degree criminal trespass, third-degree assault of a police officer, and first-degree criminal mischief. He was booked into Metro Corrections at about 1:15 p.m.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Jefferson District Court on Friday, records show. He is being held in Metro Corrections on a $5,000 cash bond.
