Cubs plan to party, pull for David Ross on DWTS

Many of the Chicago Cubs will gather Monday night for a party at the home of Miguel Montero.

And they're expected to watch former teammate David Ross on the first episode of "Dancing With The Stars."

"I'm sure (Montero) has TVs over there," manager Joe Maddon said.

Maddon was particularly proud of Ross, who completed a 15-year career last season and has been involved in various activities since retiring after Game 7 of the World Series.

"This is something outside your comfort zone, which I love that he’s doing," Maddon said. "I’m proud of him for what he’s doing. I think it’s great. Whenever you step outside that zone and expose yourself, I think it’s awesome."

Maddon noticed that Ross, 40, liked to dance in the dugout when the public address system played country music. But he and partner Lindsay Arnold will perform to "Go Cubs Go."

"Makes sense," Maddon quipped.

World Series Hero David Ross Won America Dancing to ‘Go Cubs Go’ On Dancing With The Stars

That’s pretty much how to do it. Retired Chicago Cubs player David Ross, who scored a home run during game seven of the 2016 World Series, won the judges and the Internet over with his first dance on Dancing With the Stars. He and partner Lindsay Arnold danced to “Go Cubs Go,” the team song. The dance was, of course, baseball-themed, and the audience all had Cubs flags to wave.
