Drake Accuses Country Club of Racial Profiling on Coachella Trip in Now-Deleted Instagram Post
Drake fans took aim at an upscale California country club after the rapper accused the staff of “racial profiling.”
The 30-year-old “Hotline Bling” rapper took to Instagram on Sunday to blast The Madison Club, a private golf resort in La Quinta.
“The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling #Coachella,” Drake wrote in a post that has since been deleted.
The establishment issued an apology to Drake prior to him taking down his post. “We are trying to get this issue fixed as soon as possible,” a rep for The Madison Club told him in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and for you to experience such a thing is embarrassing for us. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will be issuing out a formal apology to you and the public. We will also be investigating this as we do not tolerate racial discrimination.”
That didn’t stop fans of the self-proclaimed 6 God took to social media to criticize the club — and, naturally, they used Drake lyrics and song and album titles to do it.
“U are Doing It All Wrong. Sooner Than Later you are gonna be Over and we are gon Feel No Ways about it,” one person wrote in the review section of the Club’s Facebook page.
“KMT you have a lot of Room for Improvement and I doubt you’ll have a Comeback Season from this. For now Take Care and Less Life.”
Another person wrote: “If you’re reading this it’s too late … Y’all are going to need some good PR & social media crisis help after disrespecting Drake like that ya know.”

Drake is fuming after a recent stay at La Quinta, California’s Madison Club.
“The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling #Coachella,” the rapper, 30, wrote in a since-deleted post on Instagram early Monday with a snapshot of the facility’s logo.
Drake’s fans are also voicing their concerns in the comments of the post — many tagging the club, whose account is private. “It should never take this level of a spotlight to assess your mandate and employee compliance,” one commenter said.
According to the Madison Club’s website, it is located 100 miles south and east of Los Angeles and bills itself as an exclusive residential community for the rich and famous — including late A-listers Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Cary Grant and Bob Hope.
Drake performed at the annual music event during Future’s Saturday night set.
Requests for comment from Drake and the Madison Club were not returned.
Country Club Gets Dragged In Reviews After Drake Accuses Staff Of Racial Profiling
Although The Madison Club in La Quinta, California was once named one of the “Best Damn Clubs” in the country, Drake isn’t here for the country club/private residence he stayed at over Coachella weekend.
In an Instagram post that has since been deleted, the Canadian crooner/rapper referred to the private residential community and country club as “the most offensive place” he’s every stayed at.
Drake also accused the establishment of racial profiling.
“The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling,” Drake wrote in the caption to his Instagram post, which included a photo of The Madison Club logo.
The Facebook page for the country club/residence, which describes itself as “the most exclusive private residential community in La Quinta, California,” is now littered with less-than-favorable reviews and is sitting at a score of 2.9.
“Y’all upset Drake and his crew. You don’t mess with Drizzy and not get dragged. Here take an L and have a seat with United Airlines you’re done,” one Facebook user wrote.
“Don’t ever disrespect the 6 God again you donkeys. Watch how you speak on his name,” another user added.
A Yelp page for The Madison Club features a similar set of one-star reviews.
Consisting of luxury estate residences and villas, homes at The Madison Club sell for millions. A golf membership at the country club is $250,000, while golf dues are $3,625 a month, according to this real estate website.
The Madison Club has yet to respond publicly to Drake’s allegations.
