11 Worst Promposals

Worst Promposals Ever

Because nothing says prom like a little melanoma.
You get no sympathy for such a dumb promposal idea!

Reason enough for this romantic.

This promposal begins with dash cam footage from a police cruiser tailing a pickup truck in Peachtree City, Georgia. After hitting his siren, he pulls the truck over and approaches the young man driving the car. He informs him he was flagged for criminal activity.

The driver and his passenger, a young woman, exit the car. The officer searches the truck and that's when things take a turn for the worse—to the unsuspecting prom date, anyway. For the record, she did say yes, but what a crazy way to ask!

Teen's Awful 'Promposal' Involves a Fake College Rejection Letter
This seems like a pretty risky move: A high schooler asked his girlfriend to prom by crafting a very convincing fake letter from the University of South Carolina, supposedly rescinding her admission in the fall unless she agreed to go to prom with him.

"Unfortunately, it is clear that your grades are not what they were when we accepted you," said the letter, according to WYFF:
"It saddens us to say that your admission is in jeopardy, and we may have to pull our admission from you due to your poor school ethic and attendance. However if you were to just agree to go to prom with your boyfriend we could reconsider letting you continue to be a South Carolina Gamecock. So what do you say, will you go to prom with me?"

This years prom theme—a complete lack of empathy.

Middle Eastern student who was suspended for fake bomb 'promposal' accuses his high school of racism
A Washington teen who strapped fake explosives around his body in a stunt to ask a date to the prom has been suspended from school.

The five-day suspension for Ibrahim Ahmad will prevent him from attending La Center High's dance Saturday.
Ahmad says he was trying to go all out with his prom proposal and questions whether the decision to suspend him was based on his ethnicity.

'It was really unfair, and it kind of felt racist,' Ahmad said.

The 18-year-old senior wore a vest filled with paper-tube props made to look like explosives.

At lunchtime, he stood on the cafeteria stage and held a sign inviting his would-be date to the prom.

'I kno it's A little Late, But I'm kinda…THE BOMB! Rilea, Will U Be My Date To Prom?' the sign read.

School Superintendent Mark Mansell says Ahmad's actions were inexcusable and that he deserved punishment for disrupting the learning environment.

'To me, it's just blatant disrespect,' Mansell told The Columbian. 'The student knew that the principal wouldn't support this and he went ahead and did it anyway.'

The teen says the prank was all in good fun and simply part of a trend in flashy prom proposals.

'I'm Middle Eastern, and I thought the bomb was kind of funny and clever,' he said. 'I wasn't wearing the vest for more than, like, 20 seconds.

'It's kind of a trending thing now, too, where everyone just asks in a really creative way.'

Besides, she said 'yes.'

But now that creativity has ruined Ibrahim's prom and that of his date, Rilea Wolfe.

'If anyone else did that, I feel like no one else would have gotten in trouble for it,' Ahmad said.

Racist 'Picking Cotton' Promposal Is The Biggest Proposal Fail Of 2017
It's prom season, and we've seen some pretty creative 'promposals' in the past few weeks. But unfortunately, every year we also see examples of totally inappropriate and offensive promposals. And this year is no different.

Jon Aro, an alumni of Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida, recently took to Twitter to share a racist Instagram post he spotted on a current student's account. “You may be picking cotton but we’re picking you to go to prom with us,” the sign, held by three girls, reads. The caption of the now deleted post read: “She said yes.”

Yahoo confirmed the authenticity of the image, and reports that the three girls are current students at Monarch High School. When contacted, a receptionist said that the principal is “aware of” the photo.

“It is two thousand and f***ing seventeen,” Aro wrote in a Twitter post sharing the image. The post has been retweeted over 8,000 times since it was shared yesterday, and people have some pretty strong opinions.

She's going to cherish those smokes forever!

Teenage girl has police officer pretend to arrest and handcuff her boyfriend in school cafeteria in front of his friends, before asking him to prom
A schoolgirl has caused controversy online by getting a police officer to jokingly arrest her boyfriend just so she could ask him to prom.

The girl named Stephanie last week had a sheriff's deputy come into the cafeteria at Knight High School in Palmdale, California and handcuff Davyeon in front of his friends.

He was then led outside into the parking lot where his girlfriend was holding a sign which read: 'Dayveon, can I cuff you at prom?'

Despite the initial shock, he said yes.

He later tweeted: 'Lol it was crazy because I was eating lunch then the sheriff came in there and got me.'
When another social media user asked him whether he had actually been arrested, Davyeon said: 'Nah lol it was just a promposal as soon as I opened the door the poster was there.'

The stunt was regarded as romantic by some, but other slammed her actions, with one person calling her the 'worst girlfriend in history.'

One person wrote on Twitter: 'This is not ok at alll.'

Another added: 'Is this real? If so did you consider the possible legal, emotional and social consequences of something so reckless.'

Others said it was the 'cutest thing they had ever since' and felt sorry for those who had also asked their dates out the same day.

He's "baring it all" for this promposal.
