NYC Subway Delays, Service Changes Abound On Thursday Snow Day
NEW YORK, NY — Above ground, a white, fluffy blanket of snow formed across New York City. Underground, several subway lines are delayed, changed or stopped all together on a particularly nasty day for the MTA.

If your boss is making you come in to the office today, you'll probably need to give yourself some extra time.
Here's what things look like around 4:30 p.m.:
Due to NYCT Cold Weather Plan, there are no 6 express trains in the Bronx.
Due to signal problems at 9 Av, northbound D trains are running express from Bay Pkwy to 36 St (Bklyn).
Following an earlier incident at Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy, L train service has resumed with delays.
Brooklyn MTA Service Changes & Latest Updates
BROOKLYN, NY — Several MTA subway lines were affected throughout Thursday and likely will be for the rest of this snowy day. Patch has the latest updates on the lines affected.
As of 4:50 p.m., service changes to the subways are as follows:
MTA service changes: Snow to impact subways, buses, LIRR
More than a foot of snow was expected in parts of New York City on Thursday, leaving the Metropolitan Transportation Authority with the task of keeping the city's mass transit moving as smooth as possible.
While morning commuters didn't see much impact, there were some transit changes on the Long Island Rail Road for the evening rush.
Here's a look at the weather-related service changes so far:
Subways
No. 6 trains: There are no express trains in the Bronx due to the Cold Weather Plan, the MTA said.
Express subway service on A, B, E, D, F, N, Q, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 will end early Thursday night.
Buses
All local, limited, select and express buses across the five boroughs are running with delays, the MTA said.
Q83 detour: Eastbound buses will terminate at Springfield Boulevard due to icy road conditions on 114th Avenue between Springfield Boulevard and 227th Street.
S42 detour: Service in both directions will operate via Richmond Terrace, Jersey Street, Brighton Avenue and temporary stand at Brighton Avenue/Lafayette Avenue.
S52 detour: Service in both directions will operate via Richmond Terrace, Jersey Street and follow its regular route after Jersey Street/Crescent Street.
S66 detour: Buses will bypass the Grymes Hill area. No service along Highland Avenue, Arlo, Howard Avenue, Clove Road. Buses will remain straight along Victory Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Clove Road.
S93 detour: Service will begin and end at the main gate of the College of Staten Island. No service on the internal roadways of CSI due to closure of College.
LIRR
The LIRR has canceled 20 of its 131 evening rush trains that run between 3:27 and 6:33 p.m., as the railroad deals with blizzard conditions on Long Island.
The LIRR also said it is experiencing systemwide delays averaging 20 to 30 minutes as a result of the winter storm.
The railroad warned it would temporarily shut down service if snow totals exceed 10 to 13 inches, "to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, and to allow snow-fighting equipment to clear snow from the track and third rail."
Metro-North
No weather-related service changes.

- Due to signal problems at 74 St-Broadway and Mets-Willets Point, Main St bound 7 trains are running with delays.

- There is no 6 express train to the Bronx.
