'Baywatch' trailer released, premiere set for summer
'Baywatch' the movie is jogging in slow motion to a theater near you.
The latest in Hollywood's obsession with bringing popular 70s and 80s TV shows back as movie franchises (see "CHiPs," "21 Jump Street," "22 Jump Street"), "Baywatch" follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron).
Together, the dynamic duo uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay!
Iconic “Baywatch” stars David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson are set to appear in the lifeguard-centric film, which also stars Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Jon Bass, Kelly Rohrbach, and Ilfenesh Hadera.
"Baywatch" bows nationwide on May 26, so start working on your beach body now.
That's an arresting sight! Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario leaves NOTHING to the imagination as she strips off in racy 2014 sex scene from True Detective
She’s poised for wider exposure thanks to her forthcoming role in a redefined, feature length version of cult nineties drama Baywatch.
But eagle eyed fans will recognise actress Alexandra Daddario thanks to an altogether different type of exposure in a racy TV cameo from 2014.
The 31-year old, who’s impressive CV already includes appearances in The Sopranos, Law & Order, New Girl and blockbuster San Andreas, stripped off while filming a sex scene for popular HBO series True Detective.
Alexandra played peripheral character Lisa Tragnetti over four episodes, during which she enjoyed a steamy frisson with Woody Harrelson’s lead, homicide investigator Martin "Marty" Hart.
Inviting him into her home, Tragnetti is soon locked in a passionate embrace with the police officer – before seductively reading him his rights while peeling off her skimpy top.
‘You have the right to remain silent,’ she whispers, handcuffing his wrists to the bed posts. ‘Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law.
'You have the right to an attorney; if you can’t afford an attorney, the state will provide one. Do you understand your rights?’
‘You definitely have a career in law enforcement,’ says an approving Hart, raising his eyes to the cuffs. ‘I thought I was gonna put those on you.’
After making her screen debut at the age of 16, Alexandra has enjoyed a busy career in TV and film, most notably the Percy Jackson franchise.
But her latest role as Summer Quinn in Baywatch is sure to win the actress greater recognition.
Alexandra will feature alongside Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson in the forthcoming film, a big-screen revival of the hugely popular series.
The show was originally cancelled after the first season, but returned for syndication in 1991 when it became extremely popular and was watched for a full decade, bringing Pamela Anderson to prominence with it.
Baywatch will launch in the United States on May 26 and across the United Kingdom from May 29.
The trailer for 'Baywatch' is everything you imagined
"It's up to us to restore the Baywatch brand."
This line from the just-released "Baywatch" movie trailer is a little on the nose, but it is true nonetheless.
The fate of the "Baywatch" name is in the hands of The Rock, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and many other pretty, tanned people.
Their plan? To unleash upon summer movie goers a film with action, gun fights, bathing suits, and gross-out humor, including a gag-worthy scene at a morgue that's teased in the promo embedded below.
