Emma Watson and Amanda Seyfried take legal action after stolen nudes are leaked

Earlier today, Variety reported that Emma Watson was taking legal action after learning that some of her private photos had reportedly been stolen and leaked online. And we were preparing to cover just how shitty the world continues to be, but then some more sludge rolled downhill, as we learned that the cyber attack against Watson had likely been waged against several other actresses. According to Gizmodo, Amanda Seyfried, Alyssa Arce, Jillian Murray, Analeigh Tipton, Rhona Mitra, and Iliza Shlesinger had nude photos stolen and leaked online. Variety’s post indicates the stolen Watson photos were taken at a clothes fitting, and doesn’t refer to them as nudes, but Watson had been threatened with such a hack-and-leak after daring to speak up about gender equality.

Seyfried’s lawyer has already sent a cease-and-desist letter to Celeb Jihad regarding the unauthorized publication of her photos, but 4chan has already begun sharing the images. There is some human decency on that site, though, as moderators have already begun deleting some of the threads with the stolen photos. Gizmodo notes that this leak occurred exactly one year after one of the culprits in a previous celeb hack was charged with violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

AMANDA SEYFRIED TAKE DOWN MY LEAKED NUDES!

Amanda Seyfried's legal team is going after a site that posted her nude photos ... some of which include "intimate moments" with her ex-boyfriend.

The actress's lawyer fired off a threatening letter to Celeb Jihad, demanding they immediately take down the images that were meant to be private. The letter states the pics were illegally obtained by a third party, and leaked to the site without Amanda's consent.

Amanda's legal team wants the site to preserve any evidence related to the leak, most likely for future litigation.
The leak, dubbed Fappening 2.0, allegedly includes pics of many other celebs, including Emma Watson, whose rep says her lawyers are already on the case.

Amanda Seyfried’s nude photos reportedly leaked online

Amanda Seyfried is the latest victim of a leak and her alleged private photos have been posted online.

The 31-year-old “Mamma Mia!” actress’ nude photos were posted on a website called Celeb Jihad, according to TMZ.

Now, her lawyers are demanding the website remove the explicit photos, which were wrongfully obtained by a third party.

The photos show Seyfried “in various states of nudity or in intimate moments with her former boyfriend,” according to the letter acquired by TMZ.

Her lawyers demanded the photos be taken down immediately and permanently, threatening further legal action if they are not.

The leak comes the same day as private photos of “Beauty and the Beast” star Emma Watson were also leaked online after being stolen in an apparent hack.

Her rep was adamant that the photos were not nude, but from a clothes fitting several years ago.

Watson was previously the victim of a similar threat in 2015, but denied that such photos existed.

“The O.C.” star Mischa Barton also lawyered up this week after rumors of a sex tape began circulating online.

Barton’s lawyer claimed the video was recorded without her consent and classified it revenge pornography.

In January, a Chicago man was sentenced to nine months in prison for hacking the electronic accounts of 30 celebrities and stealing private information, including Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, Ariana Grande and Kate Upton.

Celeb Jihad has a history of posting celebrities’ nude and explicit photos, including Lucy Hale last year.

Seyfried’s rep did not return a request for comment.
