Watch Josh Gad, Jimmy Fallon Sing Auto-Tuned 'Beauty and the Beast'

Josh Gad and Jimmy Fallon squared off in "Box of Microphones," a goofy singing showdown on Tuesday's Tonight Show. The comedian and Beauty and the Beast actor took turns drawing from a stack of cards labeled with Disney songs, then randomly selected microphones triggering different vocal effects.

First, Gad crooned Frozen tune "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" with a high, chipmunk-styled squeak. Fallon followed with a devilishly deep take on Elton John's Lion King ballad "Circle of Life." The duo united for a wild closer, a duet version of the Beauty and the Beast theme filled with multiple effects, including heavy auto-tune.
Gad appears in the upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast remake, playing LeFou, the first openly gay character in a Disney film. The movie faced backlash when director Bill Condon revealed the subplot in an interview with British magazine Attitude.

"LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston," he said, the New York Times reports. "He's confused about what he wants. It's somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings."
