4. Doctors baffled by brothers' rare genetic condition that means they're ageing too fast
Brothers Ramesh and Laxman Jadhav, aged eight and 13, suffer from a rare genetic disorder that has left their body ageing too fast. They are scared to go outside, hiding under their mum's scarf to avoid the ridicule from other children. While doctors have not given the boys a certain diagnosis, they have ruled out Progeria, a genetic condition known to cause premature ageing. Mum Savita Jadhav, 30, from Pune in Central India, is worried her sons will die young, and is desperate for answers from doctors.
She said:"We know they are ageing fast and could die any time. "We have spent every penny we have on trying to help them but no one has come forward with any answers. "We don't expect any miracles but we do want someone to make life comfortable for them." When Laxman was born he was much smaller than other babies but it was only after his first birthday that his parents realised there was something wrong. Dad Ankush Jadhav, 37, who is currently unemployed, said: 'They've never lived normal lives. " They cannot go to school; they cannot play outside and make friends or socialise. "Local schools do not want to take responsibility for their fragility and if we risk and let them play with other kids their age they injure themselves easily."

5. Young woman had a facelift at sixteen because a rare condition makes her look decades older than she really is
Since the age of 12, Zara Hartshorn has often been mistaken for a woman in her 40s due to a genetic disease she inherited from her mother Tracey, who despite being 43 is also often mistaken for a pensioner. At first, the mother and daughter from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, were under the impression their appearance was down to a condition called lipodystrophy. However, after visiting the US and meeting with Dr Abu Garg, a lipodystrophy expert at the University of Texas, they in fact found they were suffering from an even rarer condition known as Cutis Laxa.
As well as the obvious symptoms, Cutis Laxa can cause serious health problems affecting the lungs, heart and arteries. News of the diagnosisi shocked Zara and she opted to undergo a four hour facelift performed by Dr Robert Ersek to shave years off her. Overjoyed with her new face, Zara brimmed with confidence and Tracey also had a matching procedure soon after to finally look her age.
6. Rare skin disorder makes Chinese girl look old and wrinkled
This baby is only a year old but already looks 80. Her name is Yuxin, and she tragically suffers from a rare skin disease that makes her look prematurely old. Yuxin is currently a patient at a hospital in the city of Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province in central China. Yuxin’s health is not good, says her grandmother. "She has a congenital heart disease, pneumonia and asthma, which recurs again these days." Over eight million people live in the city, but Yuxin looks one of a kind. Her face is wrinkly and her cheeks saggy. Sources say that skin elsewhere on her body is even looser than it is on her face. The young girl seems happy and playful in her pictures, but unfortunately her looks have troubled those close to her.
"She looks like an old man. Last time I took her to visit a doctor, and another kid was scared and cried heavily," Cao Niu, her grandmother, told photographers. Yuxin’s mother Yang remembers that the baby's skin was loose when she was born.
The girl may suffer from curtis laxa, one of her doctors told Cao, according to photo agency Rex USA. Cutis Laxa means “loose skin” in Latin, and is a disorder of the body’s connective tissue. These tissues make up the supportive framework of the body and help to give form to muscles, joints and skin.
7. The real-life Benjamin Button: Boy, 4, looks like an old man and can't go to school 'because other children are scared of him'
A four-year-old boy resembles an 80-year-old pensioner due to an incredibly rare condition. Bayezid Hossain, from outside Magura, southern Bangladesh, suffers a swollen face, hollow eyes, sagging skin, aching joints, difficulties passing urine and already has weak and broken teeth. People in the community stay away from him and children are afraid to play with him, despite him having above average intelligence. Bayezid is believed to suffer from progeria, which ages the body at eight times the normal rate. The disorder is said to have inspired the F Scott Fitzgerald novel and Brad Pitt movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in which the character is born an old man and ages backwards.
Progeria patients normally die from heart attacks or strokes at an average age of 13. Bayezid also has a form of cutis laxa, a rare connective tissue disorder in which the skin hangs loosely in folds. His 18-year-old mother, Tripti Khatun, says she is amazed at how clever her son is, but it breaks her heart that his appearance is so unusual. She said: ‘Bayezid only learned to walk aged three but he had a full set of teeth at three months old. 'His physical growth is completely abnormal but mentally, he has wonderful conversation, very aware and is very intuitive for his age.
8. Real Life Benjamin Button OLD MAN BABY BORN in Bangladesh
A newborn in Bangladesh has something in common with Brad Pitt -- or at least a classic movie version featuring him as Benjamin Button, a person whose age goes in reverse. The baby was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder called Progeria at Bangladesh Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. As you can see ... the baby looks like an elderly man at 1 day old. Children suffering from progeria syndrome appear to age faster than usual. There is no specific treatment for the disease.
