Ellie Barton and Phil Hendicott decided to spend their wedding in their birthday suits. The pair of exhibitionist Aussies exchanged vows in front of 250 guests wearing nothing more than their wedding rings - and a bouquet of strategically-placed roses. Mrs. Ellie Hendicott wore a white, painted on "dress." The only thing she really wore besides the bouquet was a long white wedding veil. Phil Hendicott wore nothing but a black top hat to cover his manhood. The wedding ceremony was conducted in the morning, live on FM radio to hundreds of thousands of Australians.

2. Taking the plunge: Thrill seeking couple get married 160ft up in the air (and then bungee jump off platform)

Talk about taking the plunge - this thrill-seeking couple found a hair-raising way to get hitched at more than 160 feet in the air.

Love really was in the air when this pair were wed on a platform suspended 50 metres above the ground - before celebrating their marriage by launching themselves off the edge.

The bride, groom and celebrant are hoisted up on the enormous crane - accompanied by some 20 guests, strapped into chairs along the side of the platform - with their legs dangling mid-air.

A second platform - hosting an orchestra and a pianist - was hoisted up beside the wedding party to give the ceremony an authentic feel.

But there was nothing conventional about this ceremony - when the newly-weds were tied to a bungee cord and jumped off the end of the aisle.

Jeroen and Sandra Kippers, from Brussels, Belgium, were the world's first couple to get married mid-air - and celebrate with a leap of faith.

Since the pair tied the knot, dozens more couples have been queueing up to copy their unusual ceremony.
The company behind the nutty nuptials - Marriage In The Sky - have been inundated with requests from couples desperate to fling themselves off the end of the aisle.

But the ultimate thrill-seekers' wedding doesn't have to end there - once the wedding party have all been lowered back to earth, guests can head skywards again - for a floating reception.

Wedding guests are wowed with a three-course wedding breakfast - all while strapped in to the dining chairs.
Loved-up adrenaline junkies can enjoy their special day almost anywhere in the world - offering spectacular views.
But the bizarre ceremonies don't come cheap - the wedding ceremony alone will set loved-up couples back almost £25,000.

Company founder, Stefan Kerkhofs - who is also the brains behind terrifying TV game show Fear Factor -  said: 'Marriage in the Sky is a marriage celebrated in heaven for couples who want to bring their chapel a little closer to angels on their wedding day by raising it 50 metres up in the air.'

'People chose to get married in the sky because the view is amazing, and it is a moment they will never forget.'
'Marriage is a big jump, you don't know what's coming - and this is exactly the same thing.'

'When I was young, my parents had a crane company. I grew up around cranes and I always thought I wish you could do more with them than just lifting.'

'One day I was up moving something on the crane and I was pretty hungry. I thought it'd be great to be able to eat up here - and the idea of having a restaurant in the sky was born.'

'I have been trying to push the limits ever since. Dining in the sky has been really successful and is operating all over the world - but I wanted to take it further, and people love it.'

Maxx is her “happy place,” Satayut married Drew Ellis in the size 8 shoe aisle of a T.J. Maxx store in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. The bride — a self-proclaimed “'Maxxinista” — wore a strapless white chiffon gown, with long black gloves and bright green gladiator-style sandals. A widened aisle, vine-covered arch and white chairs with red bows highlighted the traditional ceremony that included string music, display-dodging cameramen — and curious shoppers who stopped bargain hunting long enough to watch.

A heartbroken mother decided to "marry" her murdered fiancé in a hospital morgue. Irish father-of-two Kevin Lavelle, 29, was viciously battered with an iron bar in a gruesome gang attack while working away from home to raise money for his wedding to fiancée Michelle Thomas. The caring dad was attacked by nine louts and beaten to death as he returned to his lodgings in Banbury, Oxfordshire. But even death could not keep him and Michelle apart.

Despite her unbearable pain, Michelle organised a "wedding" in the morgue of Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital, where Kevin lay dead. The touching ceremony - witnessed by close family and friends - was conducted by the hospital's Catholic priest who administered the last rites to Kevin. In front of an open coffin, the priest blessed the wedding rings that Michelle had bought specially for the service. Their two children, James, now five, and Megan, now four, went to their daddy's funeral wearing the clothes they would have worn to their parents' wedding. The priest asked Michelle if she would have taken Kevin to be her "lawful wedded husband" and she replied "I do." Kevin's dad Paddy placed a ring on Michelle's finger and a ring was placed on Kevin's finger as he lay in the coffin.

A Long Island couple took the plunge yesterday — and to everyone’s relief were not eaten by their guests.

April Pignataro, 26, wearing a white wetsuit and Michael Curry, 31, in a black one, were married in a 120,000 gallon shark tank at Atlantis Marine World aquarium in Riverhead.

“We’re a pretty eccentric couple,” said the bubbly bride. “We just wanted to do something that represented that.”

The newlyweds, both mechanics, were protected by a cage as sand sharks, nurse sharks, eels and a giant grouper circled around.

They wore scuba gear and mikes that broadcast their words to each other, as well as to friends, family and the pastor on dry land.

“My mom was against it,” Pignataro said. “She was concerned that my makeup and hair were going to get messed up in the water. But . . . I’m a tomboy. Hair and makeup don’t mean a whole lot to me.”

A couple of bicycle lovers decided to tie the knot in a very unusual but healthy way: by riding bicycles all over the city, accompanied of course by their cyclist guests.

A worker told the registrar that this happens very rarely, because of this she was able to recall only motosvadbu rockers. Most come themed wedding where the guests are dressed in costumes of any age or, for example, everything is fleshmobnomu in identical hats.

9. The bride who had 110 bridesmaids and set a World Record

Getty Images
Did you know that there's a Guinness World Record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding? One bride from Proctorville, Ohio, broke the record with more than 100 bridesmaids at her June 11, 2010 wedding. Jill Stapleton, who owns Jill's Tumble World, a dance school, asked her students -- all 110 of them -- to be her bridesmaids and walk down the aisle at her wedding. The bride asked each girl to choose her own dress for the wedding in either purple or teal, the school's colors. In lieu of bridesmaid bouquets, each bridesmaid carried a single rose. The previous record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding was 90.
