Asur Misoa's illustrated interpretation of first-round NBA playoff matchups

Following one of the greatest regular seasons statistically in NBA history, teams are gearing up to make a championship run, as the playoffs are officially here.

French comic book artist Asur Misoa has started a trend over the past few years by depicting the first-round matchups with creative illustrations.

Misoa's artistry stems from the teams' mascots, putting a fun, cartoon-like twist on the pairings.

Kendrick Lamar's 'Humble' is the perfect theme song for the 2017 NBA playoffs

The NBA playoffs have a history of iconic theme songs, from “Roundball Rock” when the games were shown on NBC, to the ABC/ESPN era with Pitbull chanting “PLAYOFFS” in a remix of “Timber” with Kesha. This year’s playoffs theme song is (objectively) a lot better than what’s been in played in years’ past: you’ll be hearing Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” a lot for the next two months. It’s a cleaner version, given that it’s on broadcast television, but having that song be the theme is an automatic win for the NBA.

It’s also a huge win for Lamar, as his new album DAMN. (which “Humble” is its lead single) was released on Friday, unless you’re LeBron James and got it a few days before everyone else did. Also, DAMN. is, well, a damn good album, and you should listen to it if you have the chance.
