‘Real Housewives’ star Teresa Giudice’s mother dies at 66
The mother of reality star Teresa Giudice has died at 66.
Giudice, a star on Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey," shared the sad news about Antonia Gorga's passing on Instagram by posting a heartwarming collage of photos with her mother.
"Thank you for the love and support during this extremely difficult time," Giudice, 44, captioned the post. "My mother was a very cherished part of our family and she'll be deeply missed. Each and every one of your messages of love & support are so appreciated. Give her eternal rest O Lord and may your light shine on her forever."
A cause of death was not announced for Gorga, who was also the mother of Giudice's brother and "Real Housewives" co-star Joe Gorga.
Joe has not publicly reacted to his mother's death yet, but his wife Melissa shared a tribute to Gorga on social media Sunday.
"May she Rest In Peace. She was a beautiful woman who loves her children & grandchildren so immensely," she captioned an Instagram photo that showed Gorga with Melissa, Joe and their three kids. "I watched Joe & Teresa sit by her side for the last three months, the heart in this family is strong & she will live in our hearts forever."
Joe and Melissa named their 12-year-old daughter Antonia in Gorga's honor.
Gorga appeared on her children's reality show several times. Giudice had recently expressed her love for her mother in a social media post around Christmas.
"Mommy I love you so much," she captioned an Instagram photo of her with her mom on Dec. 19. "#daughtersloveforhermom."
Giudice has been "inconsolable" since her mother's death, a source told Us Weekly.
"This is a very hard time for Teresa," the source said. "She was very close with her mother."

Joe and his wife Melissa Gorga, both 37, had honored the Gorga matriarch by naming their 12-year-old daughter after her grandmother.
Neither Giudice nor the Gorgas have addressed Antonia’s death on social media. Giudice’s last social media was on an Instagram post on March 1, where she showed off her work with the NephCure Kidney International Foundation.
Joe’s last post was an Instagram shout-out to his wife on Valentine’s Day, while Melissa posted a selfie with her son yesterday.
The siblings recently united their families for a Christmas Eve celebration — the first Giudice’s had at home since her husband of 17 years, Joe, began his 41-month sentence for bankruptcy fraud at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
