Chipotle Teachers Appreciation: Here's how teachers can get free food

It's a special Taco Tuesday for teachers.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, the popular national chain, is giving free food to educators across America today as part of their annual Chipotle Teacher Appreciation promotion. From 3 p.m. to close, teachers, staff and faculty will be able to take advantage of buy-one-get-one-free burritos, bowls, salads or tacos at any Chipotle location in the country.

For those who prefer sandwiches over tacos, Tuesday also marks Customer Appreciation Day at Jimmy John's, where sandwiches are available for $1.

Customers looking to take advantage of the Chipotle deal will need to bring a valid school ID with them. The offer is limited to one free entree item per customer, and is only good for in-person orders. According to Chipotle, valid IDs include: "ID or other documentation from preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, community college, or university identifying as faculty or staff, or home school ID card."

There are more than 30 Chipotle locations in New Jersey. You can find the one closest to you here.

The offer comes one week before National Teacher Day, which this year takes place on May 9. If you know of other deals for teachers today or in the coming week, drop a tip in the comments.

Chipotle is a national chain founded in 1993 in Colorado. Last month, the company announced that it was making an addition to its menu for only the third time in the company's history, with the addition of a dessert item.

Buy one, get one at Chipotle for Teacher's Appreciation Day

Where would we be without the teachers and educators who have helped shape us into the able-minded people that we are?

Well, we certainly wouldn't be reading this, that's for sure.

And even though Teacher Appreciation Day is until May 9 this year, your favorite fast-casual spot just can't seem to contain their excitement and is celebrating the holiday a whole week early.

Perhaps in an effort to outsmart the competition, Chipotle's special deal for teachers is running today only from 3 pm till close — and this one's a BOGO.

All teachers, faculty and school staff members (with valid proof of being such) can order the menu item of their choice and cash in on any free burrito, bowl. salad or order of tacos — the fast-casual spot isn't choosy when it comes to freebies for our educators.

Eat one now, save one for later — or just have 'em both because you deserve it.
